American identity, political absurdity, and a country with a lot to explain. Coor Cohen brings Ignorant American to Lisbon.
America has a lot to explain. Coor Cohen would like a word.
Born in the North and raised in the Deep South, Coor brings Ignorant American to Republic of Comedy: a stand-up show about the country she comes from, the contradictions it runs on, and where she fits into the whole strange picture.
From politics and education to pop culture and national self-importance, Coor picks apart the gap between America's big promises and its everyday realities. Her satire takes aim at governments at home and abroad, mixing uncomfortable questions with an appetite for the absurd. Expect dark humour, playful detours, and a perspective shaped by life across 23 American cities.
If you enjoy political comedy with a personal point of view, join us for an evening of taking America a little less seriously.
