More Than a Will: Where Estate Planning Meets Your Money
What happens to everything you’ve worked so hard to build? Learn how the pieces fit together, whether or not you have an estate plan.
You may already have a will or trust. You may have created it years ago and have not looked at it since. Or you may not have started estate planning at all, but you know you want to avoid probate and you are not quite sure what that really takes.
Wherever you are starting from, the bigger question is the same:
Do all the pieces actually work together?
That is the question behind More Than a Will, a framework I created to help women and couples look beyond the legal documents themselves and understand how their estate plan connects with the rest of their financial life.
I’m Veronica Aguilera, founder of Wise Women Prosper, and during this free educational workshop, I’ll help you look at the connections that are often missed when estate planning, retirement, taxes, insurance, investments, and long-term care are handled separately.
Where Estate Planning Meets Your Money
📅 Wednesday, October 7, 2026
🕕 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
📍 Prescott Public Library | 215 E. Goodwin Street, Prescott, Arizona
During our hour together, we’ll begin with wills, trusts, and what probate can involve here in Arizona. Then we’ll look at the bigger picture and ask some of the questions that often get overlooked.
You may find yourself wondering:
- Is your trust actually funded, or is it mostly just a document sitting in a binder?
- Which assets should be owned by your trust, and which ones may be better left outside of it?
- Are your home, bank accounts, investments, and retirement accounts titled in a way that supports your estate plan?
- Do your beneficiary designations still make sense, or could they unintentionally override part of your plan?
- If your children inherit retirement accounts during some of their highest-earning years, what could that mean for the taxes they pay?
- If you are in a lower tax bracket now, could paying some taxes during your lifetime reduce the tax burden passed to the next generation?
- Are there opportunities to move money more intentionally now, rather than leaving your heirs with a large taxable inheritance later?
- How do life insurance and long-term care planning fit into the estate plan you already have?
- If one spouse dies first, does the surviving spouse have enough flexibility, access, and control?
- And perhaps the biggest question of all: were all of these decisions made to work together, or were they made one at a time without anyone looking at the whole picture?
We’ll look at how your estate plan connects with your home, savings, investments, retirement income, taxes, insurance, long-term care planning, and the people you want to protect, so you can see whether the pieces are actually working together.
This workshop is for you if:
- You already have a will or trust but have not reviewed it in a while.
- You created a trust but are not sure whether everything that should be connected to it actually is.
- You are just beginning to think about estate planning.
- You are concerned about probate but are not sure what steps are actually required to avoid it.
- You want to understand how your financial accounts and beneficiary choices fit with your legal documents.
- You want to leave more to the people you love and less to unnecessary taxes, delays, or confusion.
The goal is not to turn you into an estate-planning expert. It is to help you understand how the pieces fit together, recognize areas that may deserve a second look, and know what questions to ask your attorney, CPA, insurance professional, or financial professional.
👫 Come on your own, or bring your spouse, an adult child, another family member, or a friend.
📘 A workbook will be provided, with plenty of room for notes. Just bring yourself and your questions.
🎟️ Seating is limited, so please reserve your free seat in advance.
