Tormenting Rope in Partial

Tormenting Rope in Partial

Location TBD
Overview

Using a classic semenawa partial, come explore intentional intensity and surrender

EVENT DESCRIPTION

In semenawa (ropes of torment), the rigger inflicts both physical and psychological torment on their partner in order to take them out of their comfort zone.

Progressiveness is at the heart of semenawa. The same bondage can evolve in many ways, gradually changing sensations, balance, intensity and the way the person in the ropes experiences it. In this class we will take the time to explore one partial suspension in depth, using a classic semenawa position as a starting point. We will focus on how small changes can transform the experience and how to build intensity with intention.

This will also be an opportunity to explore the idea of letting go. What do we need to trust our rigger enough to surrender to discomfort, reactions and emotions? How does the rigger's behaviour contribute to creating that trust and how can the person in the ropes learn to let themselves be affected by what happens?

This event will take place in Somerville, MA.

PREREQUISITES

This course is suitable for riggers who are comfortable tying in partial. Having already been tied several times in partial is necessary for the models.

Communication being a central element in shibari it is always preferable to come with a partner with whom you already practice in order to allow a good experience. It's important to have already discussed the framework of your practice (desires, intentions, limits, ways of managing consent).
