This semester the COM Jazz Ensemble will explore a retrospective of pieces we have played on concerts over the last five years. We will perform our favorite engaging mid-century and more recent jazz compositions. You will hear recent funk and fusion pieces, big band arrangements of John Coltrane songs like Naima and Giant Steps, as it is the hundredth year of his birth. There will be swing pieces by Count Basie and Bill Holman, and a Weather Report-inspired piece by Kris Berg with the invidious title - Feather Report!
