This is the first full gallery presentation of Lumen the Sim's "Tame Joy" figures, hand-sculpted and painted characters within a larger mythology called Lum3nation. The world treats 1969 (ARPANET and the moon landing arriving the same year) as a cosmological origin point. The show's tagline, "Clownloading The Truth," describes the core thesis: using a clown-coded, internet-native visual language to examine how reality gets processed, simulated, and sold back to us.
The exhibition opens Oct 2 and closes on Oct 31.
About Lumen the Sim
My practice draws equally from art historical tradition and the vernacular forms of contemporary life: the social media reel, the fan page, the gif, the meme. I treat these not as low forms but as the folk media of the present moment — the altars, illuminated manuscripts, and morality plays of now. The work moves between handmade fabrication, digital animation, sculptural installation, and moving image, refusing the boundary between the artisanal and the algorithmic.
