IAM haunting

Transform a vintage cabinet card or snapshot into a unique spirit photograph. Inspired by IAM collection artist Madge Gill and the spiritualist movement of the late 19th century, draw directly onto found photographs while imagining the aura, presence or spirit captured within the portrait.

About Madge Gill  

In 1920’s England, artist Madge Gill began to receive messages from the spirit world urging her to create. Guided by this force, her art practice blossomed across sewing, writing, drawing and music. She identified this creative energy as a spirit named Myrninerest, whose signature appears on many of her works. The transcendental experience of artmaking led Madge Gill to ultimately become a well-known medium, holding seances, astrological readings and other psychic rituals in her London home.
