Arts at the Armory Spotlight Series Presents Boston Dance Theater

Boston Dance Theater will bring an original, nature-inspired dance performance to the Spotlight Series stage on January 31, 2027 at Arts at the Armory in Somerville, MA.

Unfurling is a site-responsive performance created by the artists of Boston Dance Theater in collaboration with visual artist Kim Radochia. Drawing inspiration from the quiet resilience of plant life and the writings of Indigenous botanist Robin Wall Kimmerer, the work invites audiences into a shared sensory experience of movement, sound, and sculptural installation. Dancers move through the space like tendrils of growth, attuning to one another, the land, and the invisible networks that sustain life. Rooted in slowness, sensitivity, and ecological imagination, Unfurling asks us to notice what is often overlooked and to sense our place within a living, interdependent world.

Tickets available now for Boston Dance Theater’s Unfurling! Doors will open at 5:00pm on Jan 31. The dance performance will begin at 6:00pm. The audience is invited to stay after for a brief post-show talkback with Boston Dance Theater's company members.
