Date & Time: September 27, 2026 at 1:00 PM (Pacific Time)
NEVER SEWN BEFORE? START WITH SOMETHING YOU'LL ACTUALLY USE.
Seattle Sew Your First Tote is a hands-on beginner workshop designed for people who have little or no sewing-machine experience.
You'll learn how to operate a machine, control your stitches and assemble a simple everyday tote from start to finish.
Instead of spending the entire session practicing on scrap fabric, you'll put the basics to work immediately. Choose your fabric combination, build your bag step by step and leave with a finished tote you made yourself.
No sewing experience required.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
We'll cover the essentials without turning the afternoon into a long technical class: threading and machine setup, straight stitching, seam allowance, joining fabric pieces, attaching handles and simple finishing techniques.
Pre-cut fabric keeps the project manageable for complete beginners, so most of your time is spent actually sewing.
MAKE IT YOURS
Choose from a curated Fabric Bar with different neutral, striped, checked and patterned options.
You'll select your main fabric and handles before assembling your tote.
Everyone follows the same beginner-friendly construction method, but the finished bags don't have to look identical.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Your ticket includes use of a sewing machine, pre-cut fabric, tote handles, thread and standard sewing supplies, guided workshop support and your completed tote to take home.
Just show up ready to make something.
