Question 1

What is this?

Accepted Answer

We're a D&D "live play" show - Dungeons & Dragons played live with drag queens! If you've never played D&D before, think of it as a mix of live fantasy storytelling, improv comedy, and dice rolls (for extra chaos). Follow us on Insta or YouTube (@rollforshade) to see more.

Question 2

Do I need to have seen prior shows to understand the story?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! The story is ongoing, but we'll recap everything you need to know each time. You can also watch past shows on our YouTube page @rollforshade.

Question 3

Do I need to know how to play D&D to enjoy the show?

Accepted Answer

Nope - we'll teach you the basics at the start of the show. Many of audience members have never played before and had a great time!

Question 4

Do you charge a cover?

Accepted Answer

We ask for a $10 cover that you can pay at the show via Venmo - look for the little 1/4 sheets on the tables. We used to offer tickets through Eventbrite, but Eventbrite charges attendees fees - when instead you could spend those $ tipping our amazing queens!

Question 5

What time should I arrive?

Accepted Answer

Our start time is 6:00pm, but we often don’t get started until shortly past. It all depends on when folks arrive - it’s “drag time!”

Question 6

What is seating like?

Accepted Answer

It’s all open seating, first-come, first-serve. The bar opens at 4:00pm, and folks usually start arriving around 5:30pm or later.
