With a rich career spanning Ukraine, Israel (where she made aliya), and beyond, her voice is a tiny powerhouse that touches hearts and connects audiences through a beautiful fusion of Yiddish, Hebrew, Ukrainian, jazz, and original compositions. Accompanying Mishéll is Sergei Govorov, a sought-after saxophonist whose 25-year career has earned him recognition across the globe. Originally from Russia, Sergei made his mark early, winning the Grand Prix at the Vyacheslav Shchelokov competition at just 14 years old. His exceptional talent led him to study under the mentorship of prominent classical saxophonist Margarita Shaposhnikova, and soon after, he began touring Russia and establishing himself as one of the country’s most celebrated saxophonists.

In 2011, Sergei’s career reached new heights when he performed at the world-renowned Montreux Jazz Festival. Having recently received his EB-1A visa—recognizing his extraordinary abilities—Sergei now brings his distinctive saxophone sound to American audiences, delivering mesmerizing performances that combine technical brilliance with deep musical expression.

Together, Mishéll and Sergei offer a fusion of powerful vocals and extraordinary saxophone, creating a musical experience that spans continents and genres. In this concert, Sergei Govorov and Mishéll are joined by pianist Kevin Lufkin.

Kevin Lufkin is a versatile pianist based in Denver, Colorado. Beginning his musical journey with a focus on classical music, he earned his degree in Piano Performance from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he was nominated by the faculty as the outstanding graduate of his class.

Today, his repertoire has expanded to include jazz, funk, fusion, pop, and more. In addition to winning numerous piano competitions while developing his classical career, Kevin has performed with some of the region’s top jazz musicians and is in demand for a wide variety of concerts and events.

Career highlights include First Place in the MTNA Colorado Young Artist Piano Competition, Second Place at the MTNA regional competition, and performances throughout the region as well as in New York City, Buenos Aires, Mexico, and Hong Kong.
