In this workshop, we will write and draw with the same ink used to write Descartes' Meditations, Newton's Principia Mathematica, the Declaration of Independence, and Jane Austen's novels. We begin with a demonstration of how iron gall ink is made using Isaac Newton's recipe and oak galls foraged from New Orleans City Park. Participants will then have time to explore the iron gall ink and other natural inks created for Scout Island Symbiotic (current show at NOLA ‘Nacular).
