Ed Jackson Quartet (Livestream)

This special evening features the Ed Jackson Quartet—comprising Ed Jackson (Sax), Julius Chen (Piano), Bill Moring (Bass), and Steve Johns (Drums)—along with special guest Eddie Allen on trumpet. This event will showcase an incredible tribute to the jazz tradition as we honor 100 years of the genius and lasting legacy of the legendary John Coltrane.

Once you register, you will receive a link to the live virtual performance on the day of the event, which will be available to watch anytime for up to 48 hours.

The Jackson Room, which is located in the heart of historical Queens, happens to be in the neighborhood where Ed grew up. This particular area of Queens in the town of St. Albans was home to an uncanny number of musicians including Count Basie, Fats Waller, Illinois Jacquet, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, and Lenny White to name a few. In fact, John Coltrane lived on Mexico Street which is just a few blocks away from the venue.

The Jackson Room has provided Ed with a chance to fulfill a more personal mission of enhancing Queens’ cultural landscape by bringing jazz back to the community.
