Inspired by Alan Reeve’s iconic 1940 caricature depicting 37 of Ireland’s leading poets, writers, artists and journalists gathered in the back lounge of The Palace Bar on Fleet Street, this unique event brings their stories and work vividly to life.

Discover the colourful personalities featured in this historic gathering—including Patrick Kavanagh, Flann O’Brien, Austin Clarke, F. R. Higgins, Brinsley MacNamara, Francis MacManus and legendary Irish Times editor R. M. “Bertie” Smyllie.

Through engaging storytelling, readings and performances selected from their works, guests will be transported back to a remarkable era in Dublin’s cultural history.

Celebrate the writers, characters and creativity that helped shape literary Dublin—all within the historic surroundings of The Palace Bar. All proceeds going directly to the Alice Leahy Trust.
