What We Believe, What We Do: A Poetry & Writing Workshop
A creative writing workshop exploring cognitive dissonance—the tension between what we believe and how we behave.
What happens when what we believe doesn't match what we do?
In this workshop, we will explore cognitive dissonance—the discomfort that can arise when our actions clash with our beliefs, values, or understanding of ourselves. We will begin with an accessible introduction to cognitive dissonance and explore the tensions that can emerge when our thoughts and behaviours don't align.
From there, we will use writing as a way to explore these contradictions. Through a series of reflective and creative writing exercises, we will look at the gap between what we say, what we believe, and what we actually do.
You don't need to have any previous experience with poetry or creative writing. Come with an open mind and a willingness to explore the complicated space between what we believe and what we do.

About the facilitator - Queenie
I’m a Creative Arts Therapist and the founder and CEO of Blossom Therapy Helsinki, with a private practice in Töölö, where I provide psychotherapy incorporating creative approaches. I also work as a counsellor with Auntie, a mental health and wellbeing company.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy with Creative Arts and integrate creative approaches such as writing, movement, drama, and music into my therapeutic work, alongside psychotherapy and counselling.
For me, creativity isn’t about being an artist or creating something beautiful. It is a way of exploring experiences that can be difficult to put into words, offering new perspectives on our emotions, thoughts, relationships, and experiences.
My work is guided by a simple goal: to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives through art and creativity, creating spaces where people can explore themselves with curiosity, safety, and compassion.
