Writing: The Sacred Vocation

Writing: The Sacred Vocation

Overview

Lit Night with talks and readings by the SF Art Forum Writer's Group and Anselm Ramelow O.P.

How is the medium of writing unique from all other arts? What does the written word refer to regarding deeper or other realities, and what special role does it play in the faith tradition?

Come join us for Writing: The Sacred Vocation, a writer's night with talks and readings from the SF Art Forum Writers Group and with an introduction by Fr. Anselm Ramelow, O.P., a philosophy professor in aesthetics. Writers featured include: Zackary Steinmetz, Zoe Schleining, Alaish Wren, and Nyami Aghedo Cannon.

This is not just an ordinary creative writer's night; it is an exploration of the deep connection between Writing x Theology. The evening will begin with an opening reflection on the role of art and writing within the Christian tradition, followed by featured readings of original work from our writers, some of whom are published. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a short, collaborative writing exercise.
