2 1/2-Hr Immersive Falconry Experience flying/handling Birds of Prey

In max group of 12 participants, we start with stunning birds of prey tethered on perches in our glorious country location, introducing different species of raptors - hawks, falcons and owls, and the ancient sport & art of falconry. You will experience the truly magical powers of these birds, real superheros. We then fly a min of 3 species in their natural setting, flying them to fist and lure. Pictures encouraged. You will learn about the necessary conservation of raptors & experience their full glory!

The more I learned about the biology and evolution of raptors and lived it on a daily basis, learning how not to get hurt, learning how to earn their trust, learning how to be their hunting partner and even, in the case of imprints, their mother or mate, the more I felt these are the REAL SUPERHEROES of the past, present and future. They have sight that goes beyond anything man can comprehend, hearing in some species beyond anything man is capable of, smell in some species that makes them useful to police in finding corpses, strength well into the 1000’s of pounds per square inch in their feet and talons, the pressure of a rotweiller in their beaks, and last but not least, the ability to fly, to soar up to the heavens and speak to God, whatever God may be for you. They are the messengers to the Gods and the messengers from the Gods. And then there is the ancient Art of Falconry, practiced for thousands of years, an incredibly successful if done properly with care and ethics way to feed your family and your hunting partner as well.

You will be in a maximum group size of 12 persons. Ages recommended 6 and up, although children must be kept under control and supervision. Wear apparel appropriate to be in a field and be comfortable. Do NOT wear anything too fuzzy or colors that are loud like shocking pink or red please. Keep colors to natural ones like green, brown, blue, white, grey. No fuzzy, crazy hats or mittens. Sneakers or hiking shoes are best.

We DO go ahead if rain with indoor space, but prefer to TRY to work around outdoor weather for the best experience. You MUST include a mobile number for last minute texts re: weather and start time change. We usually run over. We DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS. We issue future credit but only if cancelled with 48 HOUR NOTICE. Less than 48-hr notice, you forfeit your ticket, except in case of EMERGENCY.
