Your Topic:

Surviving the Survivor Experiment: What Being Watched Does to Us:
What happens to our psychology when we are removed from the environments that ordinarily shape our behaviour and placed under constant observation?
Drawing on my experience as a contestant on Australian Survivor, alongside research in human behaviour, this talk explores how environment and observation influence the way we think, feel and behave. From living without technology and familiar routines to navigating scarcity, uncertainty and intense social dynamics, I explore how changing our circumstances can alter behaviour, perception and identity.
Using Survivor as a case study, the talk explores a simple question: Who do we become under extraordinary conditions?

Your Speaker:

VIOLA JOKUDU

Former Australian Survivor contestant Viola Jokudu works at the intersection of human behaviour and technology, helping people and organisations navigate an increasingly digital world. With a background in elite sport and coaching, her time on Australian Survivor sparked a deeper interest in how our environments influence the way we think, behave and relate to one another. That experience ultimately shaped the direction of her work in digital capability, where she helps people build the skills and confidence to work with technology more intentionally. Drawing on lived experience, practical insight and accessible research, Viola explores the everyday forces that shape human behaviour, from the environments we inhabit to the technology we use.
