Waterworks Museum: SPECIAL ACCESS TOUR

Overview

One hour guided tour with SPECIAL ACCESS to basement level pumps and upper levels of the engines.

1 hour guided tour with SPECIAL ACCESS to basement level pumps and upper levels of the engines.

Special Access ticket holders will receive an in depth guided tour and be permitted access to the sub-basement two stories below ground to view the massive Allis pumps that delivered 30 million gallons of water per day to the citizens of Boston. Participants will also have the exclusive opportunity to climb either the Allis Engine or the Leavitt engine for an up-close look at these mammoth machines. All participants must be at least 12 years old and 46 inches tall due to the height of the safety rails. All participants will be required to sign an accident and liability waiver acknowledging the risks associated with climbing the high and narrow pathways before being permitted to engage in the Special Access Tour. This waiver will be provided on your arrival. If you would like to review it ahead of time, please email us at info@waterworksmuseum.org.

Please make sure to double check the date of your tickets before purchasing as, in the event the tour is sold out, Eventbrite will automatically reschedule you for the next available date.

Tours leave PROMPTLY at the scheduled start time, so please plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your tour starts to give yourself plenty of time to sign your waiver and get settled. To avoid missing out, make sure to reach out to us if you are running late so we will know to hold your place. Tours are nonrefundable and are unable to be rescheduled. Please ensure that all details of your intended visit are correct before purchasing tickets.

The Waterworks Museum is pleased to be participating in the Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture program by extending a discounted rate on Special Access tours to EBT, WIC, ConnectorCare, and SUN Bucks cardholders. This program would not be possible without the collaboration of the Mass Cultural Council and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services' Department of Transitional Assistance, the Department of Public Health’s WIC, and the Massachusetts Health Connector respectively. Check out the full list of organizations offering EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare discounts.

PLEASE NOTE:

For your safety, and the safety of our staff, please adhere to posted signage at the museum and the instruction of staff members.
