Wonder Walk: Tiny Worlds in San Francisco

Wonder Walk: Tiny Worlds in San Francisco

Overview

Explore tiny worlds with The Humane Space on a guided Wonder Walk with entomologist Sophia Di Piazza. Come curious. Leave noticing more.

About The Humane Space

The Humane Space is an app designed to make more room for curiosity in everyday life. Through short, human-made experiences, we invite you to slow down, look more closely, and discover something new about yourself and the world around you. Our Wonder Walks bring that same spirit of curiosity off-screen and into the world. Learn more at https://www.thehumane.space.

About the Walk

Join entomologist and science communicator Sophia Di Piazza for a guided Wonder Walk focused on the tiny worlds all around us.

Along the way, Sophia will share how curiosity and observation can help us learn more about the insects and other small creatures we encounter. Participants will be introduced to some of the bugs and overlooked details we find along the trail and explore how paying closer attention can completely change the way we experience a familiar outdoor space.

No bug knowledge is required—just curiosity and a willingness to look a little closer.

Guests are welcome to bring a camera, nature journal, or anything else that helps them connect more deeply with nature. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Adults only for this walk, please!

About Sophia Di Piazza

Sophia Di Piazza is an entomologist, science communicator, and Bay Area local currently pursuing her graduate degree. Her research focuses on insects found throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, which means she spends much of her time outside searching for, collecting, and learning from the tiny creatures most people walk right past.
