Sew With Me: The Project Series is a hands-on sewing workshop series at Sew In Detroit featuring a different guided project each session. From wearable fashion and upcycling to accessories and handmade gifts, you’ll learn practical sewing skills while creating something you can actually wear, use, or give.

Beginners are welcome! You do not need to own a sewing machine or have previous sewing experience to participate.

$45 — Sewing Machine Provided
We’ll have a sewing machine ready for you to use during class.

$35 — Bring Your Own Sewing Machine
Already have a machine? Bring it with you and save $10 on your class!

Please note: Participants are responsible for bringing the supplies needed to complete that session’s project. A project-specific supply list will be provided after registration, so you’ll know exactly what to bring.

September 12 — Puffy Sleeve T-Shirt Remix
Turn a basic T-shirt into a statement piece by adding dramatic puff sleeves.

October 10 — Hooded Infinity Scarf
Create a cozy, stylish hooded infinity scarf perfect for fall.

October 24 — Kimono/Duster
Make a flowy layering piece that you can customize to fit your personal style.

November 7 — Sew & Serve Apron
Create a functional and stylish apron for yourself or to give as a handmade gift.

November 21 — Denim Remix Day
Bring an old denim piece—jeans, jacket, skirt, shirt or something else—and your creative idea. We’ll help you alter, redesign and give it new life.

December 12 — Stuffed Bear Gift Workshop 🧸
Special 3-hour class! Create your own stuffed bear just in time for holiday gifting. This workshop is still only $45 with a machine provided or $35 when you bring your own machine.

December 26 — New Year, New Bag 👜
Head into 2027 with something you made yourself! Create a stylish tote bag while learning useful bag-making techniques.
