A Conversation with Captain Greg Meyer, Author of Hard Cases

Join us for the third installment of the Los Angeles Police Museum’s book series as we welcome retired LAPD Captain Greg Meyer for a discussion of his book, Hard Cases.

Described by bestselling author Michael Connelly as "an ultimate insider's look at policing in America," the book offers a close examination of the critical, often split-second decisions made during police encounters. Drawing on more than three decades of experience, Captain Meyer explores the realities of everyday policing alongside high-profile cases in which he served as an expert witness, including Rodney King, Oscar Grant, and George Floyd.

The conversation will be moderated by former Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley, whose perspective adds further depth to this examination of one of the most complex issues in modern law enforcement: the use of force.
