The Exchange - Teaching Artist Professional Development Summit
The Exchange is a one day event that brings together teaching artists from Metro Detroit and beyond to learn, network, and get inspired.
Hosted by Y Arts, The Exchange is a one day professional development summit focused on providing opportunities for teaching artists to grow, network, and be inspired.
Y Arts, the arts and humanities branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit has been serving the community since 2007. At the core of our mission is providing employment, support, and resources to help local artists not only survive, but thrive. The Exchange has been a dream of ours for many years, and thanks to the support of the Erb Family Foundation and the Max and Marjorie Fisher Foundation, we're now in our second year of providing this incredible day of learning.
The summit will include:
- Morning networking and light breakfast fare
- Opening speaker to inspire and kick off the day
- Breakout Sessions
- Facilitated Conversations
- A panel of creative youth development professionals
- Free parking!
This event is designed to serve established and emerging teaching artists throughout Michigan. If you are a veteran creative educator or someone just starting out who is curious about a career teaching youth and/or adults, this day of learning is for you. We welcome all mediums of art and, thanks to our funders at the Erb Family Foundation and the Max and Marjorie Fisher Foundation, we’re able to offer this great day of professional development for only a $15 registration fee.
