There is the part of acting everyone sees: the audition, the self-tape and the callback.

Then there is everything happening on the other side.

What does an agent expect before submitting you? What happens when casting receives your submission? What are they looking for when they watch your audition? What does a manager need from you? Are your training, headshots, résumé and reel ready when an opportunity arrives?

The Actor’s Code brings an agent, casting director, talent manager and acting coach together for one day of honest conversation, practical guidance and industry insight.

This workshop is not about promising representation or telling you how to “make it.” It is about helping you understand how the business works and what is expected of you as an actor.

Meet the Speakers

Angela Strange | The Osbrink Talent Agency

Angela Strange, VP of Operations at The Osbrink Talent Agency, will attend in person and share the business from the agent’s perspective.

Angela will discuss professional expectations, representation, the tools actors need, working in major and local markets, and what actors should have prepared before approaching an agent.

For young performers and their parents, she will also address work permits, working conditions and some of the responsibilities involved in working professionally as a minor.

Ricki G. Maslar | Ricki Maslar Casting

Ricki G. Maslar will attend in person and take attendees inside the casting process.

She will discuss what happens from submission through booking, what casting professionals look for, audition expectations, self-tapes, cold reads and professional conduct.

The session may include cold reads and audition demonstrations with selected volunteers. Individual participation is not guaranteed.

Vince Lazzo | VL Entertainment

Vince Lazzo, owner of VL Entertainment, will discuss the manager’s role in developing talent, preparing actors for professional opportunities and helping performers make informed career decisions.

Michael Scott Brennan

Michael Scott Brennan will discuss actor preparation, training, headshots, résumés, demo reels, self-taping and professional presentation.

Who Can Attend?

The workshop is open to ages 5 and older.

Each minor must have their own paid admission. Up to two parents or legal guardians may accompany a ticketed minor at no additional charge.

Everyone receives the same core industry information. When professional requirements differ for minors, those differences will be addressed during the workshop.

What to Wear

Dress professionally, comfortably and camera-ready. Photography and video recording may take place during the event.

Price: $225 per attendee

A 15% early-registration discount is available through September 12, 2026.

Each ticket provides admission to the in-person workshop in Dallas. Individual participation in cold reads, audition demonstrations or material reviews is selective and not guaranteed.
