Literature Clubhouse is partnering Coping Studios to show the classic Australian film Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975).
Welcome to our latest event happening at Coping Studios, a creative space in Surry Hills! This month we will be watching the Australian cult classic film Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) dir. Peter Weir. This ties into our monthly September meet where we will be discussing the Joan Lindsay's book of the same name.
The plot follows a group of girls from Appleyard College, an all-girls private school, who plan a summer picnic to Hanging Rock in Victoria. However, things turn bad when a few students and a teacher go missing at the picnic.
For those new to Literature Clubhouse, we are a growing bookclub that focusses on classic, philosophy, and feminist literature. If you're in your 20s and looking for a third-space to meet likeminded people, make new friends, and enjoy some good food and drink, then come along to our monthly meet-ups.
