A quarterly live series bringing comedians, researchers, and people across Chicago together to learn and laugh about AI
AI conversations tend to happen in rooms where everyone sees the technology from roughly the same angle: tech with tech, academics with academics, artists with artists. Everyone argues about the same thing without seriously hearing what the other rooms know. This quarterly live series puts those perspectives in conversation.
Each show brings together people with different experiences of how AI is changing our work, education, creativity, and lives, not to decide whether AI is good or bad, but to ask better questions about where it's useful, where it isn't, who benefits, and what incentives are shaping the choices we make about it.
Our inaugural event: AI & Education
On November 1, we’re bringing together a public school teacher, a psychologist and researcher, a therapist and parent, and comedians to talk about what AI means for learning, teaching, and childhood. The conversation will explore the gap between what AI promises for education and what students, teachers, and parents are actually experiencing.
The Panel
Northwestern psychologist Claudia Haase
CPS teacher and comedian David Donnick
Therapist and parent Angela Jones
The Moderator
Comedian and Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! regular Adam Burke
The Headliner
Former public school teacher and national headlining comedian Jeanie Doogan closes the night with stand-up.
Each panelist will open with a short “spark story” from their own experience, followed by a comedian-led conversation, audience Q&A, and stand-up comedy.
