Landscapes of Self: Free Nature-Inspired Family Arts & Crafts Workshop
Create together, connect, and explore emotions through nature-inspired art, mindfulness, and creative self-expression.
This workshop introduces the intersection of mental health and wellness, nature, and creativity, exploring how creative practices and connection with natural elements can support reflection, clarity, inner peace, and meaningful conversations about difficult feelings. Participants will use nature-inspired crafting/art as a gentle tool for self-expression and connection with others (handouts with land art examples will be given).
Audience: Families (caregivers + kids/teens)
Participant Outcomes:
- Increase self-awareness by reflecting on feelings, experiences, hopes, and internal processes.
- Develop creative ways to express emotions that may be difficult to communicate verbally.
- Build emotional vocabulary and perspective through metaphor and visual representation.
- Encourage mindfulness and grounding through sensory engagement with natural materials.
- Strengthen family connection by creating a safe, low-pressure opportunity to share and learn about each other's inner worlds.
- Explore change and resilience through the temporary, movable nature of the landscapes.

Supervised by Anne Mitchell LCSW 29105
Hi, I’m India (she/her), a queer-identifying AMFT and lover of all things outdoors. Being outside is my utopia—from backpacking, hiking, and biking to walking around the block in my pajamas with a coffee in hand. I love how nature gives us space to slow down, notice, and reconnect with ourselves. Through Internal Landscapes, I’m excited to bring some of that experience indoors through creativity and nature-inspired art.
Eli Fujita, ASW 118495, they/them
My name is Eli (they/them). I’m an ASW and I’ve been a clinician with Pacific Center since 2023. My queer, nonbinary, and mixed race identities are very important to me, and I’m so grateful that I get to work with and give back to the communities I’m part of. In both my practice and my personal life, I often find that creative expression and humor can be incredibly helpful for getting unstuck or being in the present moment—both of these things can be so difficult to achieve in our chaotic world. This workshop will be a great opportunity to combine creativity, presence, and connection through nature!
