Join us at Le Mysterium for a hands-on Stencil Making Workshop led by the talented artist Jeremy Novy. Novy is most well known for his stencils of koi fish as well as iconic queer imagery, with many examples here in New Orleans!
Learn the history of stenciling and then design, cut, and spray your own creation over the course of three hours. No prior experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn! All materials provided.
During the workshop, Jeremy will assist you and your fellow students from start to finish on the stencil process. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner, this workshop is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skills and express yourself through stenciling.

Introduction
Meet your teacher, get some basic info about what we will be doing and meet your fellow classmates.

Stenciling 101
After learning some history of the art form, we will then create or adapt a preexisting stencil using markers and paper. Next, with hobby knives, you will then cut out your design.

Spray Your Design
We will go over some spray paint basics. Afterwards we will have you apply your design.
