Community Q&A with Michael P. Gibson

Join renowned topiary artist Michael P. Gibson for a community conversation by the Boxwoods in Dewey Square. Gibson will share his approach to topiary artistry and reflect on how creativity and thoughtful care can shape the way we experience the places around us. With more than 30 years of experience and over 700 living sculptures to his name, Gibson is advancing topiary as a contemporary art form through his innovative Gibson Method of sculpting trees and shrubs.

Together, we’ll consider how engaging with nature—even in the heart of a city—can invite us to slow down, see our surroundings differently, and foster a greater sense of belonging to the places we call home.

Gibson will be joined by Brian Gibbons, Director of Horticulture at the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, and the talk will include opportunities for community members to engage in conversation with Gibson as he shares about his practice.
