Stones & Stories: Tour of the Old Burying Ground & Whittemore-Robbins House

Overview

Explore 300 years of Arlington history at the Old Burying Ground through individual stories, unmarked graves, and Revolutionary figures.

Explore over 300 years of Arlington history through two historic sites at the heart of Arlington Center: the Old Burying Ground and the Whittemore-Robbins House.

Learn how this part of Menotomy developed around its meetinghouse and burying ground, including the nearby buildings. Hear the stories of individuals buried here, learn what recent scientific discoveries have revealed about unmarked burials, and trace the history of those killed on April 19, 1775.

Inside the Whittemore-Robbins House, learn about the people who lived there and hear some of the ghost stories associated with the property.

The tour begins at 11 am on Saturday, October 17, at the Winfield Robbins Memorial Garden. The tour will last about 2 hours and cover approximately one mile over uneven, unpaved terrain. Admission includes both the walking tour and the guided house tour.
