Celebrating Ember's Solo Artistry
Ember is a Manhattan-based choral ensemble emphasizing new music by living composers. Ember is built on the power of individual voices brought into community. Tonight’s Cabaret turns the spotlight toward those individual artists—many of whom are also active as soloists on stages throughout New York and beyond.
Under the direction of Founding Artistic Director Deborah Simpkin King, Ember is known for compelling performances that pair artistic excellence with thoughtful engagement in the questions of our time. Its singers bring wide-ranging musical experience to the ensemble, creating a collective sound shaped by distinctive voices, generous collaboration, and a shared commitment to meaningful music-making.
Tonight, those voices step forward one by one. Together, they reveal another dimension of the artistry at the heart of Ember.
