Curio-City Experiences #2: The Art Tour with BlueLobster Art

Join The Columbist and BlueLobster Art for a Saturday afternoon exploring Berlin through contemporary art, good food, and new connections!

For the second edition of The Columbist’s Curio-City Experiences, we’re collaborating with BlueLobster Art for a curated art tour through Potsdamer Platz and Potsdamer Straße, featuring specialty coffee, gallery visits, bites, drinks, and plenty of time to connect along the way.

We’ll meet at 12:30 PM at THE BARN Potsdamer Platz, where we’ll start the day with a fresh batch brew filter coffee before heading out into the neighbourhood.

From there, BlueLobster Art will take us on a specially curated route through galleries and art spaces around Potsdamer Platz and Potsdamer Straße, introducing us to some of the exhibitions, artists, and places defining Berlin’s contemporary art scene right now.

Midway through the tour, we’ll make a stop at Sushi’N’Sticks on Potsdamer Straße for some bites and and a glass of wine, and a relaxed networking hour to meet the other curious minds joining us for the day.

We’ll finish the experience at the Embassy of Italy in Berlin for Caravaggio × Berlinde De Bruyckere, the inaugural exhibition by OFFSITE ARTS in partnership with the Embassy.

The exhibition brings Caravaggio’s Mary Magdalene in Ecstasy (c. 1606) to Germany for its first-ever public presentation. Curated by Tjioe Meyer-Hecken and Felipe Schwager, the exhibition is part of Berlin Art Week and runs from September 11 to October 2.

For our visit, we’ll also have the opportunity to hear directly from the curators about the exhibition and the dialogue between the two works. This is a pretty special way to end our afternoon together.
