Get ready to use IIIF and Allmaps

Get ready to use IIIF and Allmaps

Overview

Explore IIIF, georeferencing and Allmaps to discover, view and integrate digitized maps into research and education.

In this workshop you’ll be introduced to the IIIF-standards, the process of georeferencing and viewing maps using Allmaps’ accessible web interfaces, and exploring maps from the Allmaps dataset. Through examples in- and outside of TU Delft, we’ll also cover possible integrations with research pipelines and educational modules.

Co-founded by TU Delft Library in 2021, Allmaps offers open source tooling for working with digitized maps, plan and aerial photos. Leveraging the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF), a series of open standards implemented by libraries, archives and museums worldwide, Allmaps offers access to a wealth of resources that can be used for educational and research purposes.
