2026 FIU Music Festival: Piano Fireworks: Weber’s Musical Legacy

Two internationally acclaimed pianists explore the brilliant musical imagination of Carl Maria von Weber in a festival concert of solo and duet music.

FIU alumna Lindsay Garritson joins Ukrainian-born pianist Anastasiya Naplekova in works composed by Weber and music inspired by his enduring influence. Garritson has appeared at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center and earned top honors at major international piano competitions. Naplekova, praised for her “effortless virtuosity,” is a laureate of the Olga Kern, Hilton Head, Paderewski and Horowitz international piano competitions.

Moving between solo showcases and the excitement of two pianists performing together, the program reveals Weber’s gift for drama, lyricism and brilliant keyboard writing—and the music it inspired across generations.
