Something in Common: Reimagine Civic Life, Together | New Orleans

On Wednesday, September 9, the Henry Luce Foundation and The Juror Project invite the New Orleans community to Something in Common: Reimagine Civic Life, Together, part of a national listening series centering the experiences, perspectives, and visions of young people.

Young leaders representing ALAS, Amplify Justice / Liberation Collective, Daughters Beyond Incarceration, Project Butterfly New Orleans, and Sông Community Development Corporation will come together for a conversation about civic life, participation, public power, community, and the future they want to help create.

Hosted by Porsha-Shaf’on Venable, Deputy Director of The Juror Project, the evening will create space for young people to speak directly about the issues affecting their lives, the ways they are already participating in their communities, and what they want adults, organizations, institutions, and decision-makers to understand about the world they are living in and helping shape.

Parents, families, educators, advocates, civic and community organizations, philanthropic partners, residents, and young people are invited to join the conversation.
