Unity- different histories, different languages. Different ways of seeing the world. And yet we have found ways to meet.
UnityED — different histories, different languages, different cultures, and different ways of seeing the world. Yet somehow, we continue to find ways to come together.
This year, Petals & Pavement is about exploring what can happen when we take those differences and create something beautiful with them. Through art and fashion, we want to celebrate the untold stories ,experiences and, truthes while also showing how much we still have in common.
Join us for a two-day experience centered around art, fashion, culture, creativity, and community, featuring the Petals & Pavement Art exhibition on November 7 and the Petals & Pavement Fashion Show on November 8.
Petals & Pavement: UnityED
Petals & Pavement returns with a two-day creative experience centered around one powerful theme: UnityED.
On November 7, we begin with artexhibtion . Artists will have the opportunity to tell their stories and share pieces inspired by different cultures, backgrounds, histories, experiences and truthes. The goal is to bring all of those different perspectives into one space and allow people to experience how differently we may see the world—and how beautiful it can be when those different perspectives come together.
On November 8, we take that same idea to the runway. Designers will use fashion to explore culture in their own way, mixing different influences, traditions, aesthetics, and ideas to create something completely their own. We want each designer to have the freedom to show us what UnityED means to them. It could be two cultures coming together, different styles being mixed into one collection, or a completely new idea inspired by several different worlds. There is no single way to represent UnityED.
Petals & Pavement has always been about bringing different worlds together. It is the meeting point between softness and strength, luxury and the streets, refinement and raw creativity. The petals represent beauty, growth, and evolution. The pavement represents where we come from, what we experience, and the environments that shape us. When you put the two together, you get something that may seem like it should not work but somehow, it does.
UnityED does not mean that we all have to look the same, think the same, come from the same place, or create the same way. but UnityED does mean standing in our differences with the same mission to DESTROY the system. Inspiring differences are what can inspire new fashion, new artwork, new conversations, higher elevation, higher ways of thinking.
For two days, we are bringing artists, designers, models, creatives, and our community into one space to celebrate exactly that.
UnityED through creativity.
