Batida Rio Beginners Workshop

Take the jump into learning a new fun and exciting hobby - join Batida Rio on our autumn Beginners Workshop!

We welcome anyone to join us for our regular weekly rehearsals, including you! However our beginners course will give you all the time you need to learn at your pace, teaching a selection of our rhythms slowly, away from the faster pace of our regular band.

This course is the perfect opportunity for all beginners, in particular anyone who feels nervous walking into a group of experienced players.

During this course we will be breaking the techniques and rhythms down to basics and making it easy for you to learn. No musical experience is needed to take part, we will teach you everything you need to know from technique, to rhythms, to movement.

The course is led by Batida Rio directors Lorna and Matt, who have decades of experience in music and drumming, aswell as being experienced teachers and workshop facilitators.

Following the workshop we invite all participants to join our main band, theres no requirement to 'pass' the workshop to join. Batida Rio are a fun, friendly and super welcoming group and you could be part of our special community before you know it!
