Village Preservation: Andrew Berman with Carl Raymond

Berman has led Village Preservation since 2002, spearheading successful efforts to secure landmark designation for more than 1,250 buildings, including sites connected to LGBTQ+, African American, immigrant, artistic, and countercultural history. A lifelong New Yorker and architectural historian, he has also worked extensively in tenant, housing, and cultural advocacy.

Carl Raymond is a writer, lecturer, licensed New York City tour guide, and social and culinary historian. He hosts The Gilded Gentleman, a popular history podcast exploring the culture, personalities, architecture, and fascinating contradictions of the Gilded Age.
