Lili Boulanger's D'un matin de printemps brings color and vitality; Arvo Pärt's Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten transforms simplicity into a powerful meditation on remembrance; and Debussy's mysterious La cathédrale engloutie imagines a great cathedral rising from the depths.
The concert culminates with César Franck's monumental Symphony in D minor—a work of immense scale, drama, and sweeping architecture that brings the season to a magnificent conclusion.
