About MAGDALENE CRUTHERS IS GOING TO HELL:

For years, Magdalene Cruthers has performed seances for grieving clients, using her ability to communicate with spirits to bring peace to those left behind—well, using her pretend ability to communicate with spirits, anyway (a girl’s got to eat). After tragedy strikes, she and her two cohorts decide to go on the straight and narrow, settling far from their usual grifter haunts.

Theodore Barrow’s life is full of responsibilities: running his family’s butcher shop, keeping his bickering siblings in line, and, most importantly, raising his young daughter. A chance meeting with a fortune teller in a dingy tent wedges its way into his mind—particularly after said fortune teller ends up in his small town of Roslyn, as beautiful and flustered as the first time they met.

Falling in love with Theo and his toddler daughter Emmy is the easy part, but the sanctimonious village pastor, hell-bent on preserving the morality of their small town, has set his sights on Maggie and her family. With her secrets—and hard-won reputation—on the line, she must determine whether to run from the past she's tried so hard to escape, or fight for the future she's found.

About the authors:

Ali Lockhart is a romance writer from the Midwest who believes that love stories are for everybody. A voracious reader from the age of four onward, Ali fell in love with historical romance as an adult and decided to try writing her own—how hard could it be? (It was very hard). When she isn’t writing, Ali is reading and reviewing books for her Instagram account, @ali_learns_to_read, where she enjoys being told she’s wrong in the comments. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and several plants she’s desperately trying to keep alive.

Jane Hadley lives under seven layers of blankets staring out into the cold tundra of Minnesota winter from behind her original wavy glass 1915 windows which she stubbornly won’t replace because old things are inherently valuable. She writes historical romance to explore the imperatives of love and belonging across time, and also as an excuse to think about kissing.
