What is onboarding?

Onboarding is the first step in the Friends of Codey’s kitchen approval process.

We review how the kitchen operates, expectations for tenants, pricing, access, policies, and the types of businesses the kitchen is designed to support.

The session helps determine whether FoC is a good fit.

How long is onboarding?

Accepted Answer

Onboarding is approximately 2 hours.

If you are seriously interested in moving forward, please arrive prepared to stay for the full session.

If at any point during onboarding you determine that the kitchen is not a good fit for your business, you are welcome to leave.

Question 3

What time should I arrive?

Accepted Answer

Please arrive on time.

Late arrivals are not accepted.

The doors close 30 minutes after the scheduled start time, and anyone arriving after the doors are closed will not be admitted.

Because important information is presented throughout the session, arriving late may prevent you from completing.

Question 4

Can I bring someone with me?

Business partners are welcome to attend.

Please do not bring:

Employees
Guests
Children

Onboarding is intended for the business owner and, when applicable, an active business partner who will be involved in decisions about kitchen use.

Question 5

Do I need to bring any documents?

Accepted Answer

No.

You do not need to bring business documents to onboarding, and you do not need to have all required documents completed before attending.

Documents will be requested and uploaded electronically later in the onboarding process.

What should I bring?

We strongly recommend bringing:

Pen or pencil
Paper or a notebook for taking notes

There is a significant amount of information shared during onboarding, so taking notes is highly encouraged.

Question 7

Does attending onboarding mean I am approved to use the kitchen?

Accepted Answer

No.

Attending onboarding is only the first step.

During the session, you will learn more about the kitchen and share information about your business, production needs, schedule, products, and goals.

Based on that information, we collectively determine whether Friends of Codey’s is a good fit.

Is there an onboarding fee?

Accepted Answer

There is no payment required simply to attend the onboarding session.

If you decide to move forward after onboarding, a $200 non-refundable administrative fee officially begins your onboarding and activation process.

Question 9

Do I need to bring the $200 administrative fee with me?

Accepted Answer

No.

Friends of Codey’s does not accept cash or any other form of in-person payment.

All payments are completed electronically through our designated payment system.

Question 10

How long do I have to pay the $200 administrative fee?

Accepted Answer

The $200 administrative fee must be paid within the required period following onboarding in order to continue the process.

If the fee is not paid within that timeframe, you will be required to attend onboarding again before moving forward.

Question 11

Is the $200 administrative fee refundable?

Accepted Answer

No.

Once paid, the $200 administrative fee is non-refundable.

The fee covers the administrative work associated with beginning your tenant file, compliance review, account setup, documentation process, and next steps toward activation.

Question 12

Does the $200 administrative fee include kitchen time?

Accepted Answer

No.

The administrative fee is separate from kitchen usage, monthly plans, storage, sanitation fees, equipment charges, or other operating expenses.

Question 13

What is the minimum monthly kitchen commitment?

Accepted Answer

All approved tenants must maintain a minimum monthly kitchen spend of $250.

There are no exceptions to the minimum monthly commitment.

Your actual monthly cost may be higher depending on your production needs, kitchen hours, storage, equipment use, and other services.

Do I need to have all of my permits, licenses, and documents before attending onboarding?

Accepted Answer

No.

You may attend onboarding while you are still working through your business compliance requirements.

If you decide to move forward, Friends of Codey’s will provide instructions regarding the documents that must be submitted before your account can be fully activated.

Question 15

Can I start using the kitchen immediately after onboarding?

Accepted Answer

No.

Kitchen access begins only after you complete the required onboarding steps, submit the necessary documentation, make required payments, and receive approval for activation.

What should I know before attending?

Arrive on time
Stay for approximately 2 hours if you are interested in moving forward
Take notes
Ask questions
Discuss your business and anticipated kitchen needs
Determine whether Friends of Codey’s is the right fit for your operation
