Hispanic Heritage Month: Latin Dance, Mindfulness & Resilience
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month through Latin dance, mindfulness, and community while supporting Ayuda’s work
Come move, breathe, celebrate, and connect.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Luna Serenity and GrooveFit are coming together for The Rhythm We Carry, an evening celebrating Latino culture, resilience, and belonging through movement, mindfulness, and community.
We’ll begin with Jannelle of GrooveFit leading an energizing dance experience inspired by rhythms and movement from across Latin America and the diaspora. No dance experience needed. Just come ready to move, have fun, and celebrate.
Then, Johanna of Luna Serenity will guide us from movement into grounding and accessible mindfulness practices designed to support nervous system regulation, release stress, and reconnect with ourselves and one another.
At a time when many Latino and immigrant communities are carrying heightened stress and uncertainty, this gathering is an opportunity to honor something equally important: our joy, our culture, our connection, and our resilience.
This event centers and celebrates Latino culture, but everyone is welcome. Whether these rhythms are part of your own heritage or you’re coming to move, learn, celebrate, and stand in community with others, there is a place for you here.
Together, we’ll celebrate what we carry and create space for what we can put down.
A portion of proceeds will benefit Ayuda, supporting their longstanding work providing legal, social, and language-access services to immigrant communities throughout the D.C. region.
