Grand Opening of Disem’s New Solo Exhibition 'Who Authorized This?’
The first 150 guests enjoy complimentary Levi’s Trucker Jackets while supplies last.
Join us at Museum of Graffiti for the opening of Who Authorized This?, a new solo exhibition by Miami-based artist DISEM during LatinX Heritage Month.
After more than 25 years as a graffiti writer, DISEM uses this exhibition to explore authority, identity, assumptions, and the systems and traditions that shape how we see the world. Inspired by a question he has heard throughout his career—“Who authorized this?”—the exhibition invites viewers to question who establishes the boundaries we live within, where our beliefs come from, and why we accept them.
Bringing together graffiti, realism, street culture, and fine art, the exhibition reflects the contrasts and complexities of Miami and DISEM’s own experiences growing up in the city.
The exhibition was made possible by an artist grant from Zig-Zag, awarded to the artist as part of the Museum of Graffiti’s 2025 Miami Art Week Programming hosted by Shark Tank’s Daymond John. Disem did a live pitch for this concept in front of a panel of judges and ultimately took home the grand prize from Zig-Zag in addition to a billboard to promote the exhibit courtesy of Outfront Media. Additionally, the first 150 guests to the exhibition opening will receive a complimentary Levi’s® Trucker Jacket hand screenprinted with the artist’s work.
