The first ever collaboration between these 2 certified masters of their respective crafts, BLU & SNDTRAK's "LA" pays homage to classic west coast sonics while painting a layered portrait of life in the City of Angels. Blu's sharp lyricism and grounded storytelling shine over Sndtrak's combination of dusty drums and classic sample flips. These 10 tracks of straight heat show why Blu is one of the most revered MCs to come out of Los Angeles this century and why Sndtrak is widely considered one of the most exciting new voices in hip hop production. Los Angeles producer/DJ EXILE has had quite a career. He burst on the scene in the mid 90s as 1/2 of Emanon with Aloe Blacc. Then in 2007 he teamed up with a young upstart MC named Blu to release the seminal independent hip hop classic "Below The Heavens"! Since then he's gone on to release 4 more albums with Blu, multiple albums with Fashawn, and a gang of solo instrumental projects, all while producing tracks for Mobb Deep, Jurassic 5, Snoop Dogg, Pharoahe Monch, Freestyle Fellowship, & countless others. It's always a pleasure to welcome the Dirty Scientist back to our stage!
