Lindsey Kustusch: "Outside the Garden Gate"

In Outside the Garden Gate, Lindsey Kustusch turns her attention to the natural world, exploring the color, movement, and atmosphere found among gardens, forests, and wildlife. The exhibition reflects a sense of curiosity and discovery, capturing those moments when an ordinary encounter with nature becomes something more vivid and memorable.

Lindsey’s energetic brushwork and expressive use of color bring a sense of immediacy to each painting. Birds emerge among dense blooms, sunlight filters through wooded landscapes, and flowers shift between careful observation and abstraction. Rather than simply documenting what she sees, Lindsey responds to the character of each subject, allowing color, texture, and movement to shape the experience of the scene.

This show will speak to the impulse to wander beyond what is familiar and see where the natural world leads. Outside the Garden Gate opens at Principle Gallery on Friday, September 18th, 2026, with an opening reception from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. The exhibition will remain on view through Monday, October 5th, 2026.
