Daytime Series Presents: Diane Frankel and the Fierce Voices Project

Join us for a candid and inspiring conversation drawn from Fierce Voices: Women Reflecting on the Pleasures and Indignities of Aging, a collection of reflections from 37 women across the United States on life after 75. Compiled through the Fierce Voices Project, the book captures humor, wisdom, resilience, and joy alongside the everyday challenges of growing older—offering an intimate look at friendship, family, legacy, autonomy, and the unexpected pleasures that come with age.

Project lead Diane Frankel will be joined by two guest speakers to discuss the stories behind the collection, what they learned in gathering these voices, and what it means to age boldly and honestly. [Panelist names and details to be announced.]

About the Speakers

Diane Frankel has twenty-five years of experience in the non-profit arena. She was the founding director of the Bay Area Discovery Museum. As a presidential appointee of President Clinton, she headed the Institute of Museum and Library Services in Washington, DC., a federal agency, which provides funding to museums and libraries. Ms. Frankel has served as a consultant to arts and cultural organizations. She is also a member of the Nonprofit Consulting Group. Ms. Frankel has been active in volunteer activities and has served on numerous boards. She served as chair of the San Francisco Art Institute Board of Trustees (2010- 2013). Currentl,y Ms. Frankel is a member of the MoAD Board. Ms. Frankel is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. She received her Master of Arts and Teaching from George Washington University.
