Cardboard Sculpting 101 (18+) - Mid City
Join artist German Diaz and learn how to sculpt with cardboard to make your very own figures at Rediscover Center Mid City!
In cardboard sculpting, you will explore the different ways you can use cardboard to create sculptures. We will use cardboard and wire to create figures with movable limbs and flowing garments. Each person will create their own unique figure while learning and experimenting with a handful of new techniques.
No prior experience is necessary. You are invited to a creative evening designed to be a welcoming space to loosen up, try new approaches, and create freely in a supportive studio environment.
Support Rediscover's maker classes for youth in LA County. Rediscover serves over 10,000 youth per year with free sustainable maker education. When you donate to Rediscover, you are putting tools and upcycled materials in kids' hands in Title I schools from Watts to Pacoima to help them become creative sustainable problem solvers.
Rediscover is LA's biggest sustainable maker education organization. With locations in Venice and Mid City, 65 school partnerships, and weekly activities at community festivals, farmers markets, and other events, we provide real tools and sustainably sourced upcycled materials to engage your creativity. From five year olds playing with fabric and cardboard to eight year olds learning to use a drill to teens and adults crafting beautiful functional objects, Rediscover is a supportive community of curious makers. Rediscover is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, #20-0192617.
