Chapters & Connections: A Book-Themed Networking Event in Toronto

Chapters & Connections: A Book-Themed Networking Event in Toronto

Overview

A networking event where books spark connections.

You don’t have to be a bookworm to come. Whether you’re someone who always has a book on your nightstand, a casual reader who picks one up every few months, or simply looking for a more interesting way to meet people — Chapters & Connections is for you.

Join SocialSip and She’s So Bookish for a book-themed networking experience designed to make meeting new people feel natural, fun, and memorable.

Instead of the usual networking event where you walk into a room and wonder who you’re supposed to talk to, you’ll have interactive activities, conversation starters, and plenty of opportunities to connect organically.

✨ How the night works

When you arrive, you’ll receive your Chapter Card — a small passport-style booklet that will guide you through the evening.

Start by sharing a few things about yourself, including what you’re currently reading, your favourite genre, and “the chapter in life I’m currently in…”

Then, explore the event at your own pace.

Meet someone new? Add them to your People I Met pages and exchange Instagram handles.

Discover a book you want to read? Add it to your Books I Want to Read list.

Need a little help starting a conversation? Grab a prompt.

There are no forced speed-networking rounds, although there will be a chime every 10 minutes to encourage rotations and meeting as any new people as you can. You choose how you want to participate, who you want to talk to, and how you want to connect.

📖 Throughout the night, you can...

🔖 Create your own bookmark at our Bookmark Bar — add a favourite quote, book recommendation, or advice for someone else's next chapter.

📚 Contribute to our Community Book Recommendation Wall by sharing a book you think others should read.

💬 Grab conversation prompts designed to take you beyond the typical networking questions.

📸 Capture the night at our photo booth with the people you meet.

💌 Leave with more than just a good night out.

Your Chapter Card becomes a keepsake from the evening — filled with the names of people you met, Instagram handles, book recommendations, and memories from the night.

You’ll leave with new people to follow, new books to add to your list, and hopefully a few connections that continue long after the event.

Whether you’re a lifelong reader or someone who simply enjoys a good story, this is a chance to meet people through something we all have in common: stories.
