Bridging the Future: 6G Transatlantic Research & Innovation Workshop

The 6G Transatlantic Research & Innovation Workshop is a two-day event taking place October 13–14, 2026, at Northeastern University's Institute for Intelligent Networked Systems (INSI) in Boston (EXP Building). The workshop brings together government, industry, and academic representatives from Germany and the United States to explore the next generation of wireless networks.

Focus areas include U.S.–Germany research collaboration, startup ecosystems in both countries, strategic and research talks, and 6G AI-RAN developments. The event is aimed at telecom professionals across government, industry, and academia, as well as venture capital investors with telecom interests.

Notable speakers include Muriel Médard and Tommaso Melodia from the U.S., along with Wolfgang Kellerer, Christian Wietfeld, and Frank Fitzek from Germany. Registration is open through October 1, 2026.

Day 1 (Tuesday, October 13) centers on research faculty presentations, lab tours and demos led by INSI researchers, and open discussions on research collaboration, followed by light refreshments. Please note that Day 1 has a maximum capacity of 40 attendees.

Day 2 (Wednesday, October 14) starts with welcome and opening remarks from Tommaso Melodia and Frank Fitzek, followed by keynote addresses from both countries, panel discussions on international collaboration and startups in AI-native 6G, selected research presentations, additional lab tours, and a closing reception.
