West Mission/Liberty-Hill Historic Home Tour

West Mission/Liberty-Hill Historic Home Tour

Overview

Tour historic properties in San Francisco's West Mission/Liberty-Hill neighborhood not normally open to the public!

WEST MISSION / LIBERTY-HILL HISTORIC HOME TOUR Presented by the Victorian Alliance of San Francisco

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2026 | 1 PM – 5 PM

Step inside six historic San Francisco homes and discover how generations of owners have adapted these remarkable houses for modern life.

The Victorian Alliance of San Francisco (VASF) invites you to explore the historic West Mission and Liberty-Hill neighborhood during our 2026 Historic Home Tour — a rare chance to see six privately owned homes not normally open to the public, from carefully preserved period interiors to thoughtfully modernized spaces.

Situated roughly between 20th and 24th Streets and Dolores and Valencia Streets, Liberty-Hill contains some of San Francisco's most distinctive Victorian and Edwardian streetscapes — a fitting backdrop for seeing how historic architecture evolves to meet contemporary life.

This self-guided walking tour lets you visit all six homes at your own pace. VASF docents will be on-site to share the architecture, history, and evolution of each property — showing how original details coexist with modern kitchens, baths, and everyday living.

Whether you love Victorian architecture, historic preservation, interior design, or simply want to see behind the doors of San Francisco's most beautiful houses, this is a rare look at the neighborhood few ever get.

Tickets Tickets are limited.

  • General Admission: $50 per person
  • Groups of 10+: $40 per person

The tour runs 1 PM – 5 PM, Sunday, October 18, 2026.

Transportation and Parking We encourage guests to arrive by public transit or carpool when possible. The tour area — roughly between 20th and 24th Streets and Dolores and Valencia — is accessible by BART and multiple Muni lines, and close to plenty of restaurants, cafés, and shops if you'd like to make a day of it. Street parking is available but limited, so allow extra time if driving.

Supporting Historic Preservation Proceeds from the Home Tour support VASF's preservation and education programs, including grants that fund historic preservation projects across the city. Your ticket helps preserve the architectural heritage that makes San Francisco unique.

About the Victorian Alliance of San Francisco Founded in 1973, the Victorian Alliance of San Francisco is an all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to preserving San Francisco's architectural heritage. Founded during an era when urban renewal threatened many of the city's historic buildings, VASF has spent more than five decades promoting preservation through advocacy, education, public programs, home tours, and grant funding — contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars to restoring historic buildings, public spaces, and architectural features across the city.
