The Mary Experience, Presented by Frances Valentine

Step into the world of Mary Tyler Moore. Presented by Frances Valentine, The Mary Experience is an interactive, museum-style exhibit hosted at SCAD Film Studios in Atlanta, created to welcome the public into Mary's story, celebrate her enduring legacy, and spotlight the values she championed both on screen and off.

Created in partnership with the Mary Tyler Moore (MTM) Vision Initiative, the exhibit brings together rarely seen artifacts, immersive experiences, and personal stories that trace Mary's journey from television icon to trailblazer to advocate.

Guests can expect to get up close with original memorabilia from Mary's career — including her Tam O'Shanter, on public display for the very first time, alongside her Emmy and Tony awards, original scripts with her handwritten notes, and iconic wardrobe pieces recreated from her most memorable roles. Beyond the artifacts, the exhibit tells the story of Mary's impact: how she helped redefine the American working woman on screen, and the generation of women she inspired to pursue their own careers and break their own barriers.

The experience also shines a light on Mary's lifelong advocacy for people living with Type 1 diabetes, and on the work being carried forward in her name today. After her passing, Mary's husband, Dr. S. Robert Levine, founded the Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative to continue her fight — advancing research toward a world without vision loss and blindness from diabetes. Guests will learn about the Initiative's current work and the real progress being made in Mary's name.

Highlights of the experience include:

• Be a Mary — an interactive LED volume experience where guests can step into a reimagining of the show's iconic opening title sequence and try their hand at tossing the Tam.
• A curated pop-up shop featuring the Frances Valentine x Mary Tyler Moore collection, with 20% of proceeds benefiting the MTM Vision Initiative.
• Screenings of selected episodes in the SCAD Theater, spotlighting the social issues the show tackled decades ahead of its time.
